Booking

Take a slot

Four short steps. The ticket on the right fills in as you go, so you always know what you are paying before you commit.

Step one

Where and when

Entry windows run every two hours. Arrive within thirty minutes of the time you pick.

Step two

Who is coming

Up to twenty visitors on one booking. For larger groups, write to us instead.

Step three

Anything to add

Optional. All of these can also be bought at the museum, usually with a queue.

Step four

Your details

The name on the booking must match the ID of one visitor in the group.

This is a demonstration site. Submitting the form issues a sample reference on this page only — no payment is taken and nothing is sent anywhere.

If something changes

Refunds, transfers and late arrivals

I need a different date.

Reply to the confirmation email with your reference at least 24 hours before the visit and we will move it free of charge, subject to space in the new slot.

I missed my entry window.

Come to the ticket desk with your reference. Most museums will admit you at the next available window on the same day; on busy days you may have to wait.

Can I get a refund?

Cancel more than 48 hours ahead for a full refund. Between 48 and 24 hours you get half back. Inside 24 hours the booking is not refundable, but it can still be transferred to another date.

Is the museum step-free?

The Grand Egyptian Museum, the Museum of Egyptian Civilisation and the Nubian Museum are fully step-free with lifts and loanable wheelchairs. The older buildings — Tahrir, the Coptic Museum, the Royal Jewellery Museum — have steps and partial access. Tell us in the notes field and we will send the details for your museum.
